En la serie Movimientos y Variaciones trabajo e investigo el dibujo digital. Es una serie que surge en el contexto 2020 como algo orgánico, mutable, íntimo y posible. Es una manera de dibujar con otras herramientas que me lleva a experimentar sobre un nuevo soporte, el iPad.
El iPad es la interfaz con la cuál cuestiono la linea, la forma, el color, la trama y camino sobre un borde, un espacio de transición y experimental donde desarrollo un nuevo lenguaje.
La premisa es utilizar herramientas variadas que armen un alfabeto visual propio y singular. Así, el lápiz digital puede ser birome, lapiz policromo, plumín, pastel seco o graso sobre la pantalla que luego se imprime en offset en cmyk.
Por medio de capas y multiplicidades trabajo a partir de conceptos compartidos por las artes visuales y la música.
Las Variaciones son composiciones caracterizadas por contener un tema que se imita en otros subtemas, los cuales guardan el msmo patrón armónico del tema original y cada parte se asocia una con la otra.
Los Movimientos son una parte de una composición o forma musical mas amplia previstos para ser ejecutados en sucesión con otros de ella.
Tomo estos dos conceptos del mundo musical para pensar y trasponer al lenguaje digital.
El formato final de la pieza es un múltiple en donde cada parte que compone el todo esta en relación al formato de la pantalla del iPad, respetando sus medidas.
La elección del montaje habilita la variedad de significados y recorridos, donde lo colectivo, lo grupal, lo singular y lo menor cobran sentido.
In the series «Movements and Variations,» I work and explore digital drawing. It is a series that emerged in the context of 2020 as something organic, mutable, intimate, and possible. It is a way of drawing with different tools that leads me to experiment on a new medium, the iPad.
The iPad is the interface through which I question line, form, color, texture, and navigate along an edge, a space of transition and experimentation where I develop a new language.
The premise is to use varied tools that create a unique and singular visual alphabet. Thus, the digital pencil can be a ballpoint pen, colored pencil, fountain pen, dry or oil pastel on the screen, which is later printed in CMYK offset.
Through layers and multiplicities, I work based on concepts shared by visual arts and music.
The Variations are compositions characterized by containing a theme that is imitated in other sub-themes, which share the same harmonic pattern as the original theme, and each part is associated with the others.
The Movements are parts of a larger musical composition intended to be performed in succession with others.
I take these two concepts from the musical world to think and transpose them into the digital language.
The final format of the piece is a multiple where each part that composes the whole is related to the format of the iPad screen, respecting its dimensions.
The choice of montage enables a variety of meanings and paths, where the collective, the group, the singular, and the minor gain significance.
